This action-packed comedy-adventure from Disney is about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. Hiro finds himself in the midst of danger when a devastating event occurs; he then turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon, and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.”
My family and I attended a media screening of Big Hero 6 several weeks ago. I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting, but my entire family felt that the movie was different than we were expecting. Even my 10 year old made the comment after the movie. Honestly, we’d never heard of Big Hero 6 before this so that might have something to do with it, but we really enjoyed the movie and the kids are excited to see it again this weekend.
I’m not a huge fan of 3-D movies…I just think they are overrated. My kids usually talk me into watching all the new movies this way and it’s totally disappointing. However, I really enjoyed this movie in 3-D. It’s totally worth it! There are some great visual scenes that are just not going to be the same without the 3-D effect. So splurge a little and spend the extra money to see Big Hero 6 in 3-D.
