Bridge of Spies

The previews for Bridge of Spies look interesting to me; however, it’s not usually the type of movie that I go see.  I honestly wasn’t sure what I would think of it, but I have to admit that it was a really good movie.  I vaguely remember hearing about this in high school history so I can’t tell you how accurate the story is, but it is fascinating none-the-less.  There isn’t any “action” or “love interest”, but what you have is a very well told story from a piece of history.

I didn’t take my 11 yo daughter and I’m glad I didn’t. I don’t think the story would hold her attention for almost 2 1/2 hours.  I didn’t find the content inappropriate, just that it wouldn’t hold her attention.  My friend had her 12 yo son with her and while he wasn’t disruptive there were quite a few side conversations about what things meant or why things were happening.  So for these reasons, I’d suggest only taking older pre-teens and teens.

Bridge of Spies opens nationwide today (10/16).
