Kids That Rip – The East Valley’s Indoor Skateboard Park and School

The East Valley is home to an awesome skateboarding school,  Kids That Rip (KTR). My son has always been fascinated by skateboarding so we decided to check out KTR and were absolutely amazed by this incredible place. KTR is housed in a huge indoor building (over 40,000 sq ft!) where they’ve installed all the different types of skateboarding ramps, bowls and trick surfaces. It’s indoors which makes it popular year-round especially during our HOT Arizona summers.  KTR is not just for skateboarding but also for scooters, BMX, gymnastics (Desert Devils), Parkour (free running), and cheer.

Kids That Rip offers weekly lessons, summer and school break camps, as well as open skate times and competitions.  We live too far from KTR for weekly lessons but my son usually does several camps each year. I don’t mind driving for a week at a time to give him such an amazing learning experience. KTR offers camps during summer, fall, winter, and spring breaks. Lessons are for kids of all ages and levels, including classes for kids as young as age 3.

Kids That Rip Indoor Skateboard Park collageAcademy is for the most advanced kids and is invite only. These are the kids that are training to compete in the X Games and other top competitions. KTR’s own Alana Smith holds the Guinness Book of World Records for being the ‘Youngest X Games Medalist’.

Kids That Rip Street Course

Kids That Rip shares the building with Desert Devils Gymnastics and Cheer – so if you have several kids and they don’t all want to sign up for skateboarding you can enroll them for gymnastics at the same time.
