No Hassle School & Sports Physicals at Walgreens

disclosureSummer is over and school is starting up soon, which means so are all the sport leagues.  I knew my daughter was going to need a physical this year, but finding time to make an appointment, pull her out of school, wait at the doctor’s office for the appointment, etc etc was not on my list of fun things to do.  So, when I was approached about trying out  Walgreens Healthcare Clinic for her physical by Collective Bias I knew I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

I love how easy it was to just walk in and see a board certified nurse practitioner.  It really is perfect for busy families, parents who work traditional hours (no more taking off work or getting the kids out of school), people with no insurance, no primary care doctor, or are new to the area and haven’t found a doctor yet.  For my family, it’s perfect because I can take one child in the evening and leave the other home with Hubbyman.  No school was missed, no work was missed, and I only have to worry about one kiddo in the office.  I love it!   The hours are vary by store, but they are open late in the evenings and even on the weekends!

Before we headed over, I checked their website to see if there was a wait time…nope…so we headed over.  I noticed that not only can I check wait times, but I could make an appointment if I really wanted to.  It’s so easy to just do everything online. Even once we arrived at Walgreens, I checked us in using their easy computer system.  They had so many options and services that I was really impressed.  I had no idea they offered so much!  Plus, they are expanding and adding new services all the time.

We loved our time at Walgreens Healthcare Clinic….it was easy, fast, and affordable.  Plus my daughter loved that she was able to pick out a treat afterwards at Walgreens.  It would also be nice if she was sick to have the pharmacy right there…no need for a separate trip to the pharmacy because it’s right there.  That is a life saver!

Sorry..no pics of my daughter visiting with the nurse, some things need to remain confidential…but she did get a clean bill of health.  YEAH!  I plan on bringing my 4yo back for some immunizations that he needs soon.  Lucky him!

Walgreens are in pretty much every neighborhood around here, so there really isn’t an excuse for not going.  You could easily walk, bike, or take the bus to get there.  However, make sure you visit soon to take advantage of the special $39 physicals until 9/30. After 9/30, the price goes back up to $60.

  1. It really is such a quick and easy way to be seen. I am the type of person who doesn’t like going to the doctor until they’re dying. Well, history suggests that I shouldn’t do that because I only seem to die on the weekends. These clinics are great options for hard headed people like me. 🙂
