So, this isn’t a super glamorous topic, but lice is a big deal in schools and now that school is in full swing we need to be more diligent in talking to our kids and checking them for lice occasionally. Sensitive topics aren’t fun, but I found this infotoon funny and actually learned that lice can’t jump from one person to another. I always thought that was one of the ways they spread.
Here is some interesting info from the company:
Nix® Lice Treatment is the #1 pharmacist recommended treatment for the removal of head lice and their eggs. Not only does Nix® kill head lice and their eggs fast, it protects against re-infestation for up to 14 days, longer than any other lice treatment. Additionally, Nix® Lice Treatment is completely safe, as it has been approved by the FDA for use on children over two months of age. Formerly available by prescription only, Nix® is now sold over-the-counter at full prescription strength, which works with a single application.
The active ingredient in Nix® is PERMETHRIN, which is a common synthetic chemical, belonging to the family of synthetic chemicals called pyrethroids. Permethrin is for external use only and is toxic to parasites and their eggs. Permethrin should be stored at room temperature in an area void of excessive moisture.
Even though you might not need it now, it’s always great to be prepared and Nix is providing a great little giveaway.
