Chocolate Bacon Ice Cream Parfait

Bacon, extra crispy, slightly salty, the typical sidekick of toast and eggs, and the foundation of the famous BLT sandwich, is now the star of new and unusual recipes ranging from Chocolate Covered Bacon to Bacon Habanero Mojitos. The next logical step was to add it to ice cream. The salty crunch adds a new dimension to the traditional parfait. This decadent treat, inspired by the new Twist & Shout Shake at Hard Rock Cafe, is family friendly.

Chocolate Bacon Ice Cream Parfait

For each Parfait:
2 scoops ice cream, vanilla or chocolate flavor
2 slices bacon, cooked crisp

 

Additional Ingredients:
Whipped topping
Chocolate syrup
Caramel topping (if desired)
Maraschino cherries (if desired)

Drizzle one slice of bacon with a light coat of chocolate syrup. Crumble the other slice of bacon.

Into a tall parfait glass, layer 1 scoop of ice cream, the chocolate syrup, the caramel topping, and a large spoonful of whipped topping. Add half of the crumbled bacon. Add the next layer of ice cream, the chocolate and caramel, and a final layer of whipped topping. Finish with another drizzle of chocolate syrup, and add the remainder of the crumbled bacon. Top it with the maraschino cherries and the last piece of bacon.

Serve immediately or keep in the freezer until time to serve.
