Cinco de Mayo Festival & Chihuahua Races in Chandler (free)

  • The Chihuahua Store will have Chihuahua tee-shirts and other items available. All proceeds will go to help HALO Animal Rescue save homeless pets.


Blues, Bruise and BBQs Cinco De Mayo Festival
DJs, 65 BBQ vendors, beer gardens, wine tasting.  Kiwi Dash, an anything-goes obstacle/mud race, which will take place on an adjacent field at Fear Farm. This is an 21-and-over event and will feature live music by the Delgado Brothers (popular Latin blues band from Los Angeles), Leon J & JukeJoint, and eight regional and local blues bands. There will also be  a custom Harley show, a hellacious hogs (motorcycles) competition, a low rider and classic car show, and a wing-eating contest. 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Westside Sports Complex,

Aunt Chilada’s Squaw Peak Cinco De Mayo ($10 cover)
Live performances, giveaways, 21+ only. Gates open at 3 p.m., music starts at 4 p.m. Rhythm of the Sun is the opening band from 4-8pm, The Chadwicks from 8 to close. Chihuahua Talent Show 3 p.m. on the garden patio.

Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival ($5 per person, children 12 and under free)
Live bands, boxing, dancers and entertainment along with food and libations. Family friendly. Van Buren between Central and 3rd Street, Saturday from 2 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Cinco de Mayo at Skateland Mesa ($5 includes skate rental)
Come Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Skateland with a Family Fun Skate. Different session times for different age groups.
10 a.m. to midnight


Cinco de Mayo Celebration ($7  wristbands)
Enchanted Island at Encanto Park will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with be on hand live entertainment at the park, including a Hispanic band and Ballet Folkloria, candy-filled piñatas for the kids.  Spiderman will be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 6 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

El Mexcellente! Cinco de Mayo Block Party (Free)

Big block party on Mill Avenue hosted by Canteen Modern Tequila and Fat Tuesday. It features $2 Corona beers and $4 margaritas until 6:30 p.m. Show off your skills at the Killer Cornhole Competition, which offers a $250 grand prize. DJs will play all day and night.

Cinco de Mayo With Ronnie From ‘Jersey Shore’ ($10 for women, $15 for men)

 Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, one of the several tattooed, overly tanned beefcakes from MTV show “Jersey Shore,”  will be at School of Rock fist pumping, DJing and emceeing all night. Drink specials include $3 Corona and $5 Patron shots, and 101.5 JAMZ will be broadcasting live.

Cinco de Mayo Salsa Festival (Free)

This sixth annual event features a salsa competition by Valley chefs from the Spotted Donkey Cantina, Palo Verde and others. Herradura will provide tequila samples, the Bakery Cafe will serve Mexican desserts and the Boulders Resort will feature an outdoor grill with tacos al carbon and tostadas de carnitas.

El Hefe Cinco de Mayo Block Party (Free)

El Hefe Super Macho Taqueria is rallying all weekend with two big parties. On Saturday, doors open at 11 a.m. for partyers to indulge in Beer-garitas and tacos. At 7 p.m., watch the Mayweather vs. Cotto middleweight boxing match on a 50-foot projector screen outside, or on one of the 20 televisions inside. On Sunday, there will be a beanbag tournament with a $500 grand prize.
