What do Vince Vaughn, Cobie Smulders, Chris Pratt have in common? They are all super funny and some of my favorite actors so I was looking forward to seeing Delivery Man when it came out. Lucky me, my friend Wendy from Choosing Love, invited me as her +1 to a sneak peak of the movie last month.
As the trailers tell you, David {played by Vince Vaughn} ends up having fathered over 500 children. His life is a mess, but he’s wanting to settle down with his girlfriend {played by Cobie Smulders}. She of course thinks he is irresponsible. The trailers make the movie out to be just a comedy, but it actually gets pretty serious in parts and I might have even cried a bit. It was the perfect balance for me and I really enjoyed seeing a serious side to Vince Vaughn.
Some of my favorite scenes were with Chris Pratt, the has-been attorney friend of David who is now a stay at home dad, but continues to offer legal advice. His comic relief was hilarious and will have laughing at his situation.
Synopsis from DreamWorks:
From DreamWorks Pictures comes “Delivery Man,”the story of affable underachiever David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn), whose mundane life gets twisted in a knot when he finds out that he fathered 533 children via sperm donations he made twenty years earlier. In debt to the mob, rejected by his pregnant girlfriend, things couldn’t look worse for David when he’s hit with a lawsuit from 142 of the 533 twenty-somethings who want to know the identity of the donor. As David struggles to decide whether or not he should reveal his true identity, he embarks on a journey that leads him to discover not only his true self but the father he could become as well.
