Giant Mysterious Dinosaurs

Giant Mysterious Dinosaurs have invaded Phoenix.  They have taken over the Arizona Science Center until January 21, 2013.  You won’t want to miss this exhibit.

Visit the exhibit to “explore the largest touring collection of dinosaur skeletons and robotics while following the evolutionary course of these super-giants. Titans up to 70 feet long and 24 feet tall include the world’s largest meat-eating dinosaur, the longest-necked of all plant-eaters, the unicorn-spiked duckbill from China, and the exotic, little-known Asian ancestors of horned, duckbilled and plate-backed behemoths.”

My family had a wonderful time at the science center, as we always do.  The kids had no idea that the dinosaurs were there, so they were super surprised as we made our way up to the third floor.

I would say that this exhibit is great for all ages, but that kids that are more pre-teen and junior high would really enjoy it.  There was a lot of interesting information in the narratives below each dinosaur that my young kids didn’t have the patience to sit through.  They wanted to play in the dino-dig and check out all the cool bones.   One thing my kids absolutely loved was the volunteer that asked questions and then based on our answers told us which dinosaur we would be.  I can’t seem to remember what we all were, but I remember the kids giggling about what we were.

Dino-Dig

Toward the end of the exhibit were the animatronic dinosaurs.  They were a bit to realistic for my 3 yo who ran away crying, so unfortunately I didn’t spend much time checking them out.  My 8yo and hubby loved them and told me how I really missed out because they were very cool and life like.

You still have plenty of time to get your family over to see the dinosaurs.  Go now before they leave the Valley!
