So it’s your turn to plan date night, but the usual dinner and a movie sounds boring. I have a really fun activity for you! In fact, my husband and I rarely ever do dinner and a movie anymore, this is our number one pick.
I am talking about Jester’z Improv Comedy Troupe. First, let me tell you a little bit about improvised comedy so you know what to expect when you go. The Director asks the audience for suggestions and the performers have to act out a scene based on those suggestions. The Jester’z make up everything they say and do on the spot. If you have ever seen the show, “Who’s Line it it Anyways?” it is a lot like that. I can pretty much guarantee that you will laugh until your sides hurt, you’re crying, and you’re gasping for air. That has been my experience every time I go anyway. Another plus for Jester’z Improv is that they insist on family friendly comedy. It is refreshing to have a truly fun evening and not feel uncomfortable about the subject matter being discussed or the language being used.
The Jester’z perform at Theater 168 at Scottsdale Rd and McDowell in Scottsdale, AZ.
Performances are every Friday and Saturday night at 7pm and 9pm. Each show lasts 90 minutes.
Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 480-423-0120. Tickets are $12 each plus tax. The box office only takes cash or check, so be prepared for that before hand. There is a Wells Fargo in the same parking lot, if you need to hit up the ATM.
