Today’s Meet the Locals Spotlight is Vanessa from See Vanessa Craft.
Tell us more about your site, you, and your family.
Hi East Valley Mom readers! My name is Vanessa and I live in the Phoenix area with my husband, 2 year old and 2 cats. We have another baby on the way, due in August (I plan on spending the entire summer in the pool). I blog at seevanessacraft.com, where I spread my love of glitter and glue guns to my readers. I’ve been blogging for over 6 years as my creative outlet and over the past couple years it has turned into a full time job that I absolutely love. I also blog regularly at chiquitamoms.com, celebrations.com, redbarnblog.com and parentsociety.com. I’d love for you to stop by and say hello!
What is your favorite restaurant in the Valley?
One of my favorite restaurants here in AZ is Pita Jungle and I love that Michaels is right down the street from me (which can get me in trouble).
What is your favorite vacation spot in Arizona?
My husband and I love visiting Sedona. Pre-kids it was our New Year’s tradition to ring in the new year at a little B&B in Sedona. It’s just so peaceful and romantic there, we hope to take a little babymoon there before #2 arrives.
What is your favorite type of food?
I love New Mexican food (born and raised), Italian and Chinese.
What is your favorite section on your site? What are a few posts from that section that you love?
The DIY tutorials section is by far my favorite, I love looking back at everything I’ve created. The cardboard box barn, farm animal finger puppets, no sew carebear costumes, and goldfish marshmallow pops are a few of my favorite posts.
You, of course, have a lot of crafts. What are your favorites?
I blog mostly craft tutorials, recipes, printables, parties and a little bit of mama talk thrown in there. Logan’s 2nd goldfish party is my most popular post and also one of my favorites.
What events in AZ do you never miss?
I love attending the off broadway shows at ASU Gammage. Wicked was my favorite! My local community also has a lot of family friendly events that we try to attend.
What is your favorite season and why?
It used to be summer before I moved to AZ, now I would say spring.
ASU or UofA?
UT Austin (my alma mater)! If I have to pick, ASU.
