New Year’s Eve – Local Destinations and Ideas for a Night at Home

The East Valley has a lot to offer families who are looking for family-friendly destinations. If you are like me, you will be staying at home and I have included fun ideas for an evening at home below.  But before we get to those, here are a couple local destinations that you might enjoy.

Mill Avenue’s New Year’s Eve (Tempe)

Mill Avenue and 7th Street, 6pm-midnight

This year’s New Year’s Eve party on Mill will be very different from what you are expecting. This year the Fiesta Bowl and Tempe parted ways and the party is now a Tempe event. From their site: Mill Avenue’s New Year’s Eve will revisit the origins of their celebrations by hosting a free community celebration on December 31, 2012. For the first time in decades, access to Mill Avenue’s restaurants, shops, and unique culture will be free and open to the public to enjoy a night of live music, entertainment, food, and fireworks.

Attractions include a Family Fun Zone featuring Radio Disney, live music, dining, and fireworks.

Golfland (Mesa)

6pm-1am

For a flat price of about $20 per person, your family can enjoy unlimited miniature golf, laser tag, race cars and arcade games as well as a DJ and dance floor and a midnight balloon drop.
