Star Wars is returning to our galaxy this Friday and it’s full of so much good Star Wars storytelling and lots of good twists. Keep reading for my spoiler-free review and find out if this movie is appropriate for kids.
Virtually no time has passed and The Last Jedi picks up right where The Force Awakens leaves off. Rey learns to develop her newly discovered Jedi abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is worried about the strength of her powers. The Resistance, led by General Leia, prepares to battle with the First Order while Finn and Po go on a mission to try to save the fleet.
I loved the movie, it’s probably one of my favorite Star Wars movies. There are a few plot twists that you won’t see coming, the return of some favorite characters, and the introduction of some new ones that you will love! Rian Johnson (writer & director) did a great job again keeping with the feel of the original movies. Perfect Star Wars movie!
So, will I take my kids? You betchya! It’s very similar to other Star Wars movies in terms of the violence/fighting. There was only one or two curse words that I recall and there was one kiss scene. Of course, you know your kids and if they can handle the intense fighting and death. If they have been okay with the previous movies then they will likely be fine with this one.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens nationwide Friday (12/15).
