Summer is officially here (even though it has been hot in AZ for months). This week at the farmers’ market there was a variety of summer melon that my boys could not resist. Cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon- They love any kind of fruit, and the farmer was giving out samples. Needless to say we came home with some.
Watermelon Sweetheart
We have a few picnics and parties coming up, so I was inspired to look at some ideas to jazz up the summer melons that we purchased. Melon lends itself as such a refreshing side dish it screams summer to me. I also thought it would be fun to include a few kid activities and some adult beverages to satisfy everyone.
