Throughout May, Tempe is doing free movies in the park. Families cam come to Kiwanis Park, Mill Avenue and All-America Way for free movies every Friday night.
Families and friends can bring blankets and a picnic dinner to watch the following films on large inflatable screens one of the largest in Arizona. Each movie begins at dusk (approximately 7 p.m.) on the west side of Kiwanis Lake near the fire pit.
May 4 – Happy Feet 2, PG
May 11 – Smurfs, PG
May 18 – Kung Fu Panda 2, PG
May 25 – HOP, PG
Wrangler News will once again offer a weekly Movies in the Park coloring contest for children 12 and under, with prizes donated by local businesses. Participants can find coloring pages with contest instructions at each movie, in the Wrangler News newspaper or online at www.wranglernews.com. Also returning this year, the Rotary Club of the Kyrene will host a concession stand during each movie. Money raised from the water, soft drinks, snacks and glow sticks sold will support events and charities in the Kyrene Corridor.
