I was able to experience the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa too with my family! I don’t know where to begin…this resort is so beautiful! It is located in North Scottsdale, so it’s only a short drive from anywhere in the Valley.
This was my family’s second time staying here because we love it. If you’ve never had the opportunity to stay here, you are missing out. The luxurious bedding is not to be missed. Sometimes, I dream about it, it’s not your typical hotel or resort bedding. Okay, so maybe I don’t actually dream about, but I do start looking forward to it when we know we are going.
Before I get into more details about our stay, here are a few facts about the Westin Kierland:
- 10 food and beverage venues
- full service spa
- 27-hole championship golf course
- 9,000 sq-ft water park with lazy river and water slide
- tennis
- Scottish Pipes at Sunset
- adjacent premier shopping (show your room key for discounts at select shops)
- four-diamond Resort
- kid’s club (5:30-9:30pm every night)
- kid activities
- scavenger hunt for the kids (with prizes)
We spent three days and two nights exploring and playing! The food was amazing and I will share all about our dining adventures on Around My Family Table. Please go check it out…the Resort’s signature restaurant, deseo, is inspired by James Beard Award winning Chef Douglas Rodriquez…trust me, you won’t want to miss my pictures! I even recreated the scones I had for breakfast.
I think the kids enjoyed our day at the pool. We had a cabana for the entire day and it was a great place to get out of the sun for a little bit, have lunch (I’m not going to mention how fantastic the Pina Colada was), and just to relax. My 7yo wants me to mention how much she loved the water slide and everyone loved the lazy river! Of course the beach entry portion of the pool was great for my 3yo who is just learning to swim.
During the day the kids participated in some of the kid’s activities, such as the water balloon fight and the scavenger hunt. The kids are given a book of places to visit and then when you find the places the kids can earn pins for a lanyard. It gave us something to do and the kids loved earning the prizes.
I wish I would have had time to experience the spa amenities, but we were way to busy…I sense a 3rd visit for that. However, we did take advantage of the nightly Kid’s Club. There is the PJ party for 4-7 year olds and the Digital Kids Club for 8-12 year olds. My little man wasn’t old enough (luckily, friends were also staying at the same time, so they took little man for a couple hours), but my daughter went to the Digital Kids Club and made a fun movie trailer while hubbyman and I enjoyed a romantic dinner ALONE at deseo.
Please check out the Westin Kierland on their site, facebook, and twitter.
