Cavalia’s Odysseo is the newest show to arrive in the Valley and it is exciting, original, and perfect for the whole family. From the moment I stepped into the big white tent that houses Cavalia’s Odysseo, I felt like I was in a dream. Even the unique stage curtain had a mysterious and fantastical feel to it. My children and I waited in our seats in anticipation because we knew something unlike anything we had seen before was about to begin. I was not sure if the show was going to be enjoyable for me and my children but I was eager to see if the magic of Cavalia was media-hype or reality. The 56 horses and 43 performers that make up Odysseo did not disappoint. We were speechless and riveted right from the first moment of the show. The beauty, talent, athleticism, and creativity of Odysseo were amazing and inspiring. As soon as the show was over, I wanted it to begin again.
The stage includes a video backdrop with a massive screen that is the size of three IMAX screens. The video changes as the performances change and it creates a spellbinding visual experience. The lighting and set also add to the artistry of the entire experience. All of the scenes below were created with this amazing screen.
One feature that I really appreciated was the beautiful live music. The musicians themselves can be seen high up on either side of the stage. The finale is breathtaking and will move you as 80,000 gallons of water fill the stage. You will be amazed as the horses and performers navigate the water in choreographed excellence.
I cannot recommend this show highly enough. Be sure to check out Cavalia’s Odysseo, the story of the relationship between man and horse. Cavalia’s Odyesseo is currently in Scottsdale in the huge 10 story high white tent at the 101 and Scottsdale Road. Shows run until January 20.
