Best of Mesa AZ including best BBQ, Mexican food, Italian food, public park, splash pad, museum, party venue and more!

Best of Mesa AZ

Best Mexican Food

The Original Blue Adobe Grill was voted by our East Valley Mom Guide contributors. They offer breakfast on Sunday mornings as well as daily meal specials.

The East Valley Tribune rated Los Dos Molinos as best Mexican food in Mesa.
Best BBQ Joint

Waldo’s BBQ was voted by our East Valley Mom Guide contributors.  (And if you aren’t an East Valley local, they have a Havasu location too!)

The East Valley Tribune voted Tom’s BBQ (who recently celebrated their 25th anniversary in the East Valley.)

Best Italian Food

La Famiglia was voted best by hubby. Seriously. They used to be in Chandler, but moved within the past year to Mesa. They have great food and my favorite (which unfortunately no longer appears to be offered) was their garlic knots! Talk about yum!

Vito’s Italian Ristorante was voted best Italian food in Mesa by the East Valley Tribune.

Best Park

Riverview Park got quite a face lift when the city built the Cubs baseball fields. It now has a nice big playground, ramadas for picnic, and you will find Riverview Park on our list for best splash pad too!

Red Mountain Park was also voted best park in Mesa with ramadas, soccer field, baseball fields, softball fields and urban fishing.

Best Birthday Venue

Rockin R Ranch was voted best birthday venue by our East Valley Mom Guide contributors.

Best Splash Pad

Riverview Park splash pad was added to Riverview Park during the face lift and is by far the biggest splash pad I have seen thus far in the East Valley.

Best Farmer’s Market

I am a big supporter of Superstition Farms‘ Farmer Market on Thursday evenings. The market is open from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. In addition to the farmer market, they have a petting zoo, educational hayrides around the farm, and food trucks. Not to mention local dairy items!

Best Museum

Arizona Museum of Natural History was voted best museum in Mesa by not only our East Valley Mom Guide Contributors, but also by the East Valley Tribune.

Best Public Pool

Both our East Valley Mom Guide contributors and the East Valley Tribune voted Skyline Aquatic Center as best public swimming pool.

Other Bests of Mesa Arizona

Gelato Dolce Vita was voted best ‘other’ in Mesa by one of our East Valley Mom Guide contributors and best frozen dessert shop in the East Valley Tribune.

  1. These are all really great places. Mesa has a lot of good things and I’m so glad that you have highlighted some of them. I would like to add that we have a treasure in the center of Mesa with the Mesa Art Center. It brings in some really great talent, and it offers many different art classes.

  2. I totally agree with your picks! I haven’t tried out the Original Blue Adobe grill yet though. I’ll have to give them a try. We love the Riverview Park. It’s our favorite.

  3. Original Blue Adobe is amazing! Highly recommended for anyone in the East Valley.

  4. We LOVE Waldo’s BBQ! That place is amazing. We always take our employees there to let them know we care about them.
